Fashion Institute is an organisation dedicated to the advancement, promotion and development of fashion within the South African, and African continental spaces. Fashion Institute is the holding body for our fashion week platforms, and the projects we develop.
Team:
Fashion Institute is headed by a team of professionals on a nomination process, which see’s the members get elected on a 2 year basis. The executive team is responsible for the running and management of all platforms, events and projects. The 2014 team will be announced on 30 July 2014, at the Fashion Institute offices in Cape Town, South Africa.
Events:
Fashion Institute owns and operates multiple fashion related events, which include:
- SA Menswear Week
- Cape Town Swimwear Week
- Couture and Bridal Shows
- Mens Expo International
Development:
Various projects that are funded through our stakeholders and event profits run throughout the year to develop, support and work with our designers. We also have designer exchange programmes with international fashion weeks for our designers, including:
- London Collections: Men
- Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week SWIM (Miami Swimwear Week)
- Africa Fashion Day Berlin
- Lagos Fashion and Design Week
